Long Exposure
There is a line in a Bauhaus song
‘in a flat field I do get bored’
which is both true and untrue for me.
If I sit and stare blankly in a flat field,
my mind tends to wander off to horrible places.
So it’s better to have something to do.
I stand with my camera
and my lenses
and my tripod
and my ND filters
and my remote shutter
and I look at the ocean.
I look at the stream.
I look at the river.
And my mind is filled with
f-stops and shutter speeds and framing,
and I can enjoy the beautiful.
